Carolynn's Corner - May 7, 2012

Here are a few photos from another busy day at our school.  After breakfast i give the children a list of the "chores" that need to be done, e.g. find clover for the chickens; cut lettuce for the parakeets; fill the parakeet feeder with seeds; bury the kitchen scraps (to be turned into compost, and find worms at the same time); water the seedlings; collect chicken eggs......and start learning about the herbs.  Several children can reliably name the 4 herbs that we will be featuring in our herb store.

Ava and Jack finding clover for the chickens.

A wonderful creative collaboration of blocks.

Ava and Elizabeth brought ginger and a rose to our neighor who was ill.  I told the children it is their responsibility to always help a nieghbor.  You may want to reinforce this idea.  I believe that it is an extremely important concept.

Eli, the young pizza chef.

Never too young to start cleaning.

Elli, Jack and Aaron filled the parakeet feeder with seeds.

The children are admiring the roses.  They really do appreciate beauty.

Grayson, Ava and Parisa are collecting clover.  They know just where to search!
