Today we had our second shopping excusrion (as in Benny's Pennies book). After each purchase I asked the children how many pennies they had left.  They really "got" the math!  In addition to just plain, old having fun, I really wanted them to understand the concept of buying and the math involved.  I'm pretty sure we accomplished all 3 goals.
